Incremental Frictional Contact based on Second-Order Cone Complementarity Problem

چکیده
A unified formulation as well as numerical approach is presented both for the twoand three-dimensional incremental quasi-static problems with unilateral frictional contact. Under the assumptions of small rotations and small strains, a Second-Order Cone Linear Complementarity Problem (SOCLCP) is formulated, which consists of complementarity conditions defined by the bilinear functions and the second-order cone constraints. The equilibrium configurations are obtained by using a combined smoothing and regularization method for the second-order cone complementarity problem.

متن کاملUsing an Anti-Relaxation Step to Improve the Accuracy of the Frictional Contact Solution in a Differential Variational Inequality Framework for the Rigid Body Dynamics Problem
Systems composed of rigid bodies interacting through frictional contact are manifest in several science and engineering problems. The number of contacts can be small, such as in robotics and geared machinery, or large, such as in terramechanics applications, additive manufacturing, farming, food industry, and pharmaceutical industry. Currently, there are two popular approaches for handling the ...
متن کاملA Gpu-based Implementation of a Cone Convex Complementarity Approach for Simulating Rigid Body Dynamics with Frictional Contact
In the context of simulating the frictional contact dynamics of large systems of rigid bodies, this paper reviews a novel method for solving large cone complementarity problems by means of a fixed-point iteration algorithm. The method is an extension of the Gauss-Seidel and Gauss-Jacobi methods with overrelaxation for symmetric convex linear complementarity problems. Convergent under fairly sta...
متن کاملContact Analysis of Cable Networks by Using Second-Order Cone Programming
A method based on mathematical programming is proposed for large deformation and contact analysis of cable networks. By explicitly considering these nonsmooth behaviors, we formulate the linear complementarity problems over symmetric cones under some practically acceptable assumptions. We also present the equivalent second-order cone programming (SOCP) problems, which can be regarded as the min...
